Sponsored Event Report
Attention, student organizations: RSG’s budgetary committee follows the University of Michigan’s academic calendar. Our last meeting for the Fall 2018 semester is scheduled for Thursday, December 6, 2018.
The budgetary committee will resume meetings in late January 2019. As always, please submit your funding application at least three weeks (21 days) in advance of your event. If you have any questions or are planning on seeking funding for an event occurring before January 31, 2019, please contact the RSG Treasurer at email@example.com.
1. Read through our Funding Guidelines here. See examples and results of past Funding Requests here. Make sure your organization is active and registered, as we currently only fund student groups registered with the Center for Campus Involvement.
2. Fill out the funding form above at least three weeks prior to your event. Forms that are filled out properly are much faster and easier to process. Feel free to ask for feedback or advice from the Treasurer before submitting your Request.
3. If your request is under $700, the RSG Budgetary Committee will discuss the proposal and make a funding decision within 3 weeks. You may present your proposal in person to the Budgetary Committee – just please let us know when you submit your Funding Request and it can be arranged.
*If your request is over $1000, you may be asked to make a short Funding Request presentation to the RSG Budgetary Committee. After discussion, RSG will contact you regarding the preliminary financial status of your request and the reasoning behind the amount selected. The Budgetary Committee will then give their financial recommendation to the RSG Board at the next full Board meeting. If you are satisfied with the recommendation amount by the Budgetary Committee, which is likely (but not guaranteed) to be approved by the RSG Board, you may waive your right to present your Funding Request at the next RSG Board meeting. Else, you may come to the next Board meeting and attempt to convince the Board to increase your funding above the Budgetary Committee’s recommendation.
4. You will receive an email notifying your group of RSG’s funding decision within 48 hours of the decision being made. To receive your funds, all requested receipts and the sponsored event report (template found below) must be turned within 30 days after your event. Unless you notify the Treasurer in advance of that deadline that you will not meet the deadline, your group may risk forfeiture of its awarded funds.
